Abhinav (Abz) is determined to make meaningful contributions to society and the overall development of individuals and teams in the community. Before starting BoxOut Performance in 2015, his recent work experiences have been with several of the top organizations around the world including those in the NHL, NBA, MLS as well as NBA India, Canada Basketball, and more. 

Abhinav is also a passionate advocate for women in sports and leadership. He initiated the annual Women In Sports series of events held by MLSE and supported a remarkable group called The Gals Got Game. 

His focus now is on educating the public and removing the systemic barriers that have prevented people from attaining peak performance in their personal lives.

1. What does the NeckUpCheckUp actually measure? 

The NeckUpCheckUp measures over 55 different traits, skills, and indicators above the neck falling into the categories of visual performance, cognitive performance, and mindset. To see the dozens of individual skills within each of these 3 areas, visit BoxOut U (link to BoxOut U). 


2. Do I need to complete the NeckUpCheckUp to begin the Champion Program? 

Yes, you do need to complete the NeckUpCheckUp to begin the Champion Program. The NeckUpCheckUp provides a benchmark to see improvement once you are on the Champion Program. No two people are exactly the same, and the Champion Program is able to provide a uniquely personalized experience for each user by utilizing data and information from the NeckUpCheckup. 


3. Can I just get the NeckUpCheckUp? 

Absolutely! The NeckUpCheckUp is a wonderful tool for individuals and their coaches, parents, or bosses to understand them. It is a powerful resource on its own and can teach you a lot about yourself. The Champion Program goes beyond just assessing and helps you improve your visual, cognitive, and mindset skills. 


4. What ages is the NeckUpCheckUp available to? 

Over the age of 13, anyone can do the full NeckUpCheckUp. Children ages 9-12 can do the cognitive and visual portions of the NeckUpCheckUp. The mindset portion is only available at the age of 13. Under the age of 13, the mind is constantly changing and there isn’t a consistent mindset to get accurate data from yet. 


5. How often do I need to train? 

After initial assessment, approximately 30 minutes per day is enough to achieve meaningful results.


6. How long is the Champion Program?

The Champion program is a 12 month comprehensive training program.


7. Can I integrate this program within an existing training regiment?

The Champion Program is completely integratable into any existing training regiment and does not interrupt your current schedule.


8. How do I know I’m improving? 

The Champion Program gives you actual numbers to see your individual aspects of your mental performance improving, and a reassessment after the 12 month period will show long-term changes and improvements.


9. Is it actually possible to improve your mental performance?

It is in fact possible to train and improve your mental performance in a wide variety of mental skills. Our eyes and our brains are muscles just like our abs, biceps, and calves. With consistent training you can improve your performance in areas like depth-perception, adaptability, or short-term auditory memory.
